#GladysLuckie (1911-2011)
#SecondMother to #Liberace (1919-1987), an actor, pianist, and singer
Luckie was also the longtime personal chef to #Liberace and served him his final meal of #CreamOfWheat.
Backstory: While working with #AntiquesRoadshow, the #LasVegasNevada episode, good fortune smiled on me once again by introducing me to Gladys and her daughter Linda.
It was late in the day and I was unable to evaluate her content or pitch it to the producers to be included in the episode. However, I was invited back to their Las Vegas home much to my amazement. The house was purchased and furnished for Gladys by none other than #Liberace.
I was able to get a signed cookbook and filmed Gladys talking about her family, her life, and experiences with Liberace and other celebrities.
Over twenty years later, the footage needs to be digitized so one day we could share it.
Improving the historical narrative, one artifact at a time.
